How do rotary lobe pumps work?
Het werkingsprincipe van een lobbenpomp
A rotary lobe pump is a positive displacement pump that is mainly used for highly viscous liquids. The pump has two rotors coupled by means of a gear transmission, which rotate in opposite directions from each other in the pump housing.
The rotors are provided with so-called lobes, which rotate past each other without touching each other. The shape of the lobes can vary and the number of lobes can also differ. Due to this design, the lobes of the two rotors intertwine, thereby pumping the liquid in axial direction.

For which applications are rotary lobe pumps used?
Lobe pumps are very suitable for low and high viscous liquids, possibly with solid components. Due to the design of the pump, there are no changes in the structure of the product to be pumped. Lobe pumps are often used in the hygienic industry.
